On the morning of October 11th, the thesis proposal meeting for the 2018 Master of Public Administration (MPA) postgraduate students of the International School of Medicine and Business was held in Room 233 of the Economics, Management and Literature Building at Jiangning Campus. The meeting specially invited Director Liu Qizhi from the Nanjing Municipal Health Commission to serve as a judge. Professor Ma Aixia, the dean, Professor Xu Wei, the vice dean, and three master's supervisors, Chen Zaiyu, Tang Wenxi, and Zhou Jifang, jointly formed the review expert group for this opening meeting. The opening meeting was presided over by Vice President Xu Wei.
President Ma Aixia first delivered a brief speech, expressing her welcome and gratitude to Director Liu Qizhi for taking the time out of his busy schedule to attend this opening meeting. At the same time, she put forward some guiding requirements and suggestions for the postgraduate studies and degree thesis work of the college's postgraduate students, especially MPA postgraduate students.
Subsequently, Vice President Xu Wei presided over the opening meeting. Nine postgraduate students of the 2018 MPA grade respectively made their thesis proposal reports. The topics of their reports covered multiple fields and directions such as the centralized procurement system of drugs, the reform of public health institutions, and the export supervision policies of narcotic drugs and epidemic prevention materials.
The six judges provided individual comments on each student's thesis proposal, covering aspects such as topic selection, framework design, implementation of technical routes, operability of research methods, chapter setting, text format, and selection of references. They comprehensively and meticulously analyzed the problems and offered guiding suggestions. The judges also gave affirmation to the students' thesis topics, believing that they could propose topics with good research value and practical significance from the perspective of public management and in combination with the public health event of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic.
Finally, President Ma Aixia delivered a concluding speech at the opening meeting. She hopes that students will further enhance their investigation and research, standardize the format of their reports, strengthen communication and connection with their supervisors, and revise and improve their proposal reports in a timely manner as required, laying a solid foundation for writing high-quality dissertations.
