On June 3rd, the International School of Medicine and Business held a thesis proposal meeting for the 2019 Master of Public Administration (MPA) postgraduate students in the Economics, Management and Literature Building of Jiangning Campus. The meeting specially invited two external experts, Ni Yongbing, the leading person in charge of the Nanjing Inspection Branch of Jiangsu Provincial Drug Administration, and Liu Qizhi, the Party Secretary of Nanjing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, to serve as judges. Xu Wei, the vice dean and director of the MPA Education Center, and Tang Wenxi, the director of the Department of Public Administration and deputy director of the MPA Education Center, respectively presided over the opening of the postgraduate theses of the two groups.
A total of 28 MPA postgraduate students of the 2019 grade were divided into 2 groups to conduct the topic proposal. Each postgraduate student will give an 8-minute opening presentation in turn. The topics of their theses cover a wide range of pharmaceutical fields such as the optimization of medical insurance policies, cooperative governance of rare diseases, vaccine research and application, drug registration verification, and the inheritance of Tibetan medicine. They also touch upon current hot issues in public management research and social concern, such as the operation of elderly care institutions, grassroots grid-based governance, and the new college entrance examination reform.
The judges gave individual comments on the students' proposal reports, covering various aspects such as the direction of the thesis topic, framework design, research scope, and the operability of the research methods, as well as the text format, chapter setting, and reference selection of the reports. They pointed out the problems in detail and provided solutions and suggestions.
Vice President Xu Wei and Director Tang Wenxi made the opening summary at the end, demanding that the students of the 2019 grade must attach great importance to the work of their degree theses. The topic selection of the thesis must be based on the perspective of public management, focus on the research problem, find the right entry point, combine the work content and research results, enhance the academic and application value of the thesis, and strengthen communication and exchange with the supervisor. Strive to write high-quality dissertations.
President Ma Aixia specially came to the thesis proposal meeting during the break of the undergraduate thesis defense to guide the thesis proposal work of MPA postgraduates. She also expressed her gratitude to Director Ni Yongbing and Secretary Liu Qizhi for attending this thesis proposal report meeting despite their busy schedules.
