December 17, 2025, Nanjing — The International Pharmaceutical Business School (IPBS) held the 13th academic lecture of its Young Scholars Alliance on the afternoon of November 30 at the Jiangning Campus. The event featured Professor Fan Weifeng from the School of Public Affairs at Nanjing University of Science and Technology as the keynote speaker, who delivered a presentation titled Public Administration Case Competitions: Topic Selection, Narrative Logic, and Framework Development.The lecture was attended by IPBS Party Secretary Ding Sujun, faculty representatives, and students. It was chaired by Associate Professor Dong Tiantian, Executive Deputy Director of the MPA Education Center and faculty member of the Department of Public Administration at International Pharmaceutical Business School.
Professor Fan Weifeng began by discussing the construction of an independent knowledge system and systematically analyzed methodologies for case topic selection, narrative logic, and argumentation frameworks, drawing on examples from nationally award-winning cases. His analysis provided students with methodological guidance for competition preparation . During the interactive session, students actively raised questions on specific challenges such as research topic refinement and identifying case conflicts, which Professor Fan addressed in detail.
The event not only offered targeted pre-competition training but also deepened participants’ systematic understanding of public administration case research and writing through the integration of theory and practice. It facilitated the application of interdisciplinary knowledge, strengthened the connection between academia and practical skills, and emphasized the value of high-quality talent development.
