On May 29, the Degree Thesis Defense for the graduating master’s students of the School of International Pharmaceutical Business (Class of 2026) was successfully held at the Jingwen Building, Jiangning Campus. The defense committee comprised six faculty members: Prof. Tang Wenxi, Prof. Wu Fang, Prof. Dong Tiantian, Prof. Hou Yanhong, Prof. Zhang Lingli, and Prof. Chen Ye. A total of 40 graduate students participated in the defense, including 10 candidates for the Master of Public Administration (Academic Degree) and 30 candidates for the Master of Public Administration (Professional Degree, MPA).
The defense proceedings were conducted across two parallel sessions. During the presentations, the candidates elaborated on their research findings, aligning their respective study directions with practical experience across key fields such as public policy, social security, elderly care services and the health industry, as well as medical and pharmaceutical administration. In response, the committee members posed rigorous inquiries regarding the research orientation, methodological design, analytical frameworks, and conclusions of the theses, offering constructive suggestions for refinement. The defending students demonstrated critical thinking and professionalism by addressing the committee’s questions with well-reasoned responses.
To ensure the rigor of academic standards, the School of International Pharmaceutical Business has strictly implemented a multi-tiered quality control mechanism for the Class of 2026 MPA theses. This includes stringent blind review processes, pre-defense evaluations, and formal defense assessments. Moving forward, the School remains committed to optimizing its teaching and cultivation mechanisms for MPA students. We will continue to elevate the quality of talent development, dedicated to cultivating high-caliber public administration professionals equipped to meet the evolving demands of the pharmaceutical industry.
